Can-Eng Furnaces International has secured a contract for two rotary hearth furnaces in Russia.
The two normalising furnaces are for steel castings used in railcar truck assemblies, side frames and bolsters.
The10t/h furnaces have quench and temper capability. The units will be supplied with a Level II automation system, two batch tempers, 80k litre quench tank c/w elevator, loading and unloading roller hearth conveyors with forced cooling on the post normalise side.
The equipment is destined for the Russian railcar manufacturer TVSZ, located in Tikhvin, Russia, 150 miles east of St Petersburg.
This heat treatment cell is part of larger $1bn investment that will create a railcar casting, machining, and car assembly plant. Production is targeted at 12 000 railcars per year.
